<title>C-SPAN Classroom</title>
<description>Middle and High School Social Studies Teachers,

The deadline for the 2006 C-SPAN Classroom Teacher Fellowship
application is approaching!

Each summer the Education Department chooses three teachers to come
to C-SPAN&apos;s headquarters in Washington, DC.  For four weeks they work
with C-SPAN staff  to develop resources for educators across the
country. The Fellowship program, funded by the C-SPAN Education
Foundation, is valued at $6,500, and is open to teachers who
demonstrate creative use of C-SPAN in their teaching and with their
students. Fellows also receive $500 worth of video from the C-SPAN
Archives.

The deadline for application is February 17th, 2006.</description>

<title>U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program</title>
<description>For the past nine years, U.S. Bank scholarships have helped students fund their education. This year, we continue the tradition through our Internet Scholarship Program, which will award up to thirty $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors entering college next fall.
The Internet Scholarship Program is exclusively for high school seniors graduating in the 2005-2006 school year. Winners will be selected at random.</description>

<title>Space Day</title>
<description>The Space Day 2006 Design Challenges let your students become scientists, engineers, and explorers working on the space frontier to design a totally unique solution to some &quot;out-of-this-world&quot; challenges. Students can use the Moon or any planet, moon, comet, or asteroid in our Solar System as the launching point for exploration.  
The Space Day Design Challenges are open to students in grades 4-8, and will be grouped into 9 categories. Club-based groups may only submit Galactic Gear Design Challenges and Home School groups may only submit Extreme Explorer Design Challenges. Teams that submit solutions received by February 1, 2006, will be considered for national recognition and receive a certificate of appreciation.</description>

<title>Intel and Schoastic Schools of Distinction</title>
<description>Intel and Scholastic Schools of Distinction gives outstanding K-12 schools the recognition and support they deserve.  
This awards program is open to Pre K-12 public, private, charter, parochial school in the United States, Department of Defense Dependents School, and Bureau of Indian Affairs schools (home schools are not eligible). Elementary level consists of schools with grade spans of Pre K-6. Middle schools that are part of an elementary school (grades Pre K-8) must enter at the elementary school level. Secondary level consists of schools with grade spans of 6-12. Junior high schools (7-8), middle schools that are part of a high school (grades 6-12), and high schools must enter at the secondary level.</description>

<title>InfoSource Integrating Technology in the Classroom Grant Program</title>
<description>The purpose of the InfoSource Integrating Technology in the Classroom Grant Program is to provide qualified &quot;in need&quot; school districts with the InfoSource Learn It! Build It! Share It! suite of online tools and technology training. 
The deadline to apply is December 31, 2005. School districts are encouraged to apply early since applications will be reviewed and awarded MONTHLY until the grant pool has been exhausted.</description>

<title>The MarcoPolo Education Foundation Professional Development Program</title>
<description>The MarcoPolo Education Foundation provides states and school districts with on-site professional development for K-12 teacher trainers on how to incorporate internet content into the classroom. The training sessions use print and online materials developed by the MarcoPolo Partnership, a consortium of leading educational organizations-including the Kennedy Center, National Endowment for the Humanities, and National Geographic Foundation-dedicated to creating high-quality internet content for the classroom. <title>Tech Corps: Mobilizing Technology Volunteers into K-12 Schools Nationwide</title>
<description>Since 1995, privately-funded Tech Corps has provided no-cost assistance in maintaining their technology systems to schools connected to the internet. The Tech4schools Online Mentoring Program provides online, volunteer technical assistance to educators and school technology coordinators. Typically, a team of as many as 10 volunteers (each with a specialty, such as software or networking) will support a single technology coordinator, who may represent an individual school or an entire district. Tech Corps volunteers are available in 43 states. </description>

<title>Summit Education Initiative</title>
<description>The Educator Initiative Grant Program, through the GAR Foundation, offers funding to teams of K through 12 educators who are working together to develop and test strategies for (1) helping their students meet Ohio&apos;s academic standards and (2) helping their schools achieve goals identified in their school improvement plans. No less than $1,000 and no more than $5,000 are available for projects designed to increase achievement in one or more classrooms. Grants of up to $15,000 are available for projects designed to have school-wide impact. </description>

<title>State Farms Companies Foundation K-12 Public Schools Grants</title>
<description>The State Farm Companies Foundation awards grants to K-12 public schools in the United States and Canada to support the following education initiatives: education reform or curriculum changes that improve student achievement; after-school programs; improving teacher quality; and school-to-work programs. Proposals are accepted year-round and are reviewed in a timely manner. However, approval time depends on the requested amount and completeness of the proposal. <description>Fermilab brings outstanding middle and high school teachers to Fermilab for a one-year sabbatical to participate in research in particle physics and to develop educational materials related to their experience at Fermilab. Candidates must be full-time teachers in grades 7-12 in the areas of science or technology in the school year before participation, and must commit to returning to teaching for at least two years after the fellowship.
